The Palace of Auburn Hills
A couple days after moving out to Lansing for the 2014 season, I took advantage of a chance to catch a game at the Palace. As it would turn out, it would be the only game I ever got to see there before the team moved into their new arena.
The “souvenir” cup designs were a little … lacking.
New Orleans Arena/Smoothie King Center
We stopped in for a visit at the then New Orleans Arena (now Smoothie King Center) to see the New Orleans Hornets (now New Orleans Pelicans) play while we are in town for the Sugar Bowl in 2012.

Wells Fargo Center
In 2014, I took a two-day trip to Philly to see a pair of games at the Wells Fargo Center. Charlotte beat Philadelphia in the first game of the trip, 109-91, and No. 7 Villanova rallied to force overtime and beat Syracuse, 82-77, in an old Big East rivalry renewal.
Capital One Arena (Formerly Verizon Center)
I made my first trip to the Verizon Center on February 22, 2014 for an afternoon Georgetown game and an evening Wizards game. Thankfully, I’ve gotten much better with the panoramic photos since then.
I returned to the then-renamed Capital One Arena in 2019 to watch Virginia Tech play Duke in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
